Our 121 coaching is an intensive method of training that's ideal if you want to master the art of public speaking in the shortest possible time. Its also ideal if you'd like some expert help preparing for a specific speech or presentation. The coaching is always tailored to your personal requirements and its also totally confidential.
Our approach is very practical and allows you to develop key skills and techniques through exercises, critique, practice and review.
The on-going feedback you receive from your trainer will be detailed and specific to your particular needs. And in addition, we often use video playback as an aid to your skills development.
Where do we coach?
Our 1-2-1 Executive Coaching in Public Speaking takes place in the following areas throughout the UK:-
Coaching can take place either at your premises or at our venue - the choice is yours.
So how does it work?
We regularly work with a wide range of senior managers and executives from most business and public sectors. We recognise that each person is different, with different business pressures and different training requirements.
Initial consultation with your trainer
The first step usually involves a conversation with one of our training consultants to identify your particular needs. The consultant will then select a specialist trainer and arrange for them to call you. This gives you the opportunity to speak with the actual trainer who will be coaching you and discuss your key requirements and expectations with them.
This call is free of charge and without any obligation but ensures that, (if you decide to go ahead), we are able to make the best possible use of your time in the actual training session.
We are also happy to provide any other guidance or answer any questions you might have before a coaching session – either by telephone or email.
What is typically covered in public speaking coaching?
A typical 1-2-1 coaching session will use the following approach:
- Initial practice – we normally ask you to bring a short speech or presentation
- Diagnostic review to identify your current strengths and development areas
- Series of practical exercises to develop your skills further and apply them to your speech
- Review and further practice to consolidate and further develop and fine-tune your skills
- Evaluation to assess your progress and set targets for further development
Although the actual coaching content is customised to your own needs, here are some of the typical areas that might be covered:
- Overcoming your fear of public speaking
- Becoming more confident when speaking in public
- Developing a more engaging and influential speaking style
- Using the power of non-verbal communication to influence your audience
- Creating a powerful and memorable speech
- Building stronger rapport with your audiences
- Having greater impact and influence when speaking to international audiences
- Dealing with questions and more challenging situations
- Adapting your style for different types of public speaking scenarios
- Developing your own personal style
Post coaching support – included in the fees
We believe that the coaching doesn’t just end when the session finishes but that it is important that the individuals are encouraged and supported after they have completed the coaching in order to help them maintain and further develop their newly found confidence and skills.
To help your consolidate and build on the skills that you have developed during the coaching you take away a Skillstudio Manual. This manual contains a wealth of practical advice & techniques to help your remember what you have learnt and apply to future presentations and further exercises that you can then use to continue your development.
Ad hoc support via email
We also offer ad-hoc support by email and/or telephone following the coaching, whereby the you can contact us for further help and advice regarding your forthcoming speech.
